Micronationalism
Richard found a video on YouTube about the 2016 MicroCon and became interested. He ordered a book from the local library about Micronations. With the help of the book Richard started Richardstan on February 5, 2020.
Richardstan
Richard chose Grand Duchy as the government naming himself Grand Duke of Richardstan and Surrounding Isles. In the first month of creation Richardstan received 30 citizens. In the next week it soared to 50 citizens. Attempts at currency were abandoned when he learned how horrible tax bills were. Richard created the first Free Government meaning the government was made up of volunteers and costed no money whatsoever. To obtain something you would have to trade.
The Victorian Empire
Richards friend and defense general, Cody, plotted against Richard to start the Victorian Empire. When Richards forces were out matched 1 to 2, literally speaking, our noble Duke had no choice but to give up and hand Richardstan over to the rebel Cody. Since then, Victoria has grown to much more than Richardstan could ever have been and Richard eventually gave in to the ways of Victoria and is now a very skilled politician.
Politics
Richard entered Victorian politics with the position of Head of the Department of Law Enforcement and Leader of the Victorian Activist Party of Freedom (VAPF) both positions Richard has held ever since their creation. In august when Richard decided to run for Emperor he had high hopes of winning. His political goals were to end taxes and carry on the Free Government plan, to create Re-Election limits, and to set the term for Emperor to 4 months instead of 2. When the votes were tallied Richard had lost to Cody’s sister. Richard was chosen as Vice and was given permission to re-create the Free Government. When the next Election came Richard was ready for a win, but to, his dismay, he lost again this time to Cody himself. Cody chose Richard as the Vice, even though they were of different political parties. This put Richard in office for a second term. Richard is the first Victorian Citizen to be re-elected
