Pets
Guinea pigs
Alex also has two guinea pigs - Vlnka and Lilka, who are sisters born on August 9th, 2017. They have influenced the national identity of Hilbertia and because of them, the national animal of Hilbertia is the guinea pig. This tribute was further represented in the design of the first Hilbertian flag, which featured two small stars symbolizing the guinea pigs.
Although the meaning of the stars has evolved over time, they continue to hold a place of honor on the flag. Today, these stars officially represent the two subregions of Malaja. However, during a government meeting in December 2022, it was decided that the two small stars would permanently remain on the Hilbertian flag as a tribute to Vlnka and Lilka - the Hilbertian guinea pigs.
